Baby boys are born with a piece of skin called the foreskin covering the end of their penis. Circumcision is the removal of this piece of skin so that the glans underneath becomes permanently exposed.
So, why on earth would anyone want to remove this piece of skin? That’s a good question and one this website hopes to answer comprehensively.
Many years ago the foreskin provided valuable protection to the delicate glans, before we all wore trousers and underpants. But today this protection is no longer necessary since your baby’s nappy and later his underpants will adequately perform this function. If that was all there was to it, nobody would bother having their baby boy circumcised. Unfortunately, the now redundant foreskin causes many problems for many boys and men.
In this section of my website I will give you full details of the following:
And I discuss the ethics of different aspects of circumcision.
I sincerely hope you will find this section and the information given to be useful and helpful so that you can move on to the next part of the website and to making THE DECISION
